Sioux Falls Student Receives Fully Qualified Offers of Appointment to U.S. Naval Academy and U.S. Military Academy

Max Martin was nominated by Rounds to both academies

WASHINGTON—U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) today announced that Lincoln High School student Max Martin has received fully qualified offers of appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Military Academy. Max is the son of Jon and Janet Martin of Sioux Falls, SD.

“Congratulations to Max on receiving offers to both the Naval Academy and the Military Academy at West Point,” said Rounds. “Max is an outstanding young man. Receiving one offer of appointment to a service academy is rare, but to be selected by two of them is a real honor. Max should be very proud of the hard work he’s put in to get to this point. We wish him all the best.”

“I want to thank Senator Rounds for making not one, but two of my goals become a reality,” said Martin. “I sincerely look forward to being able to serve my country and protect the rights that we treasure so dearly.”

Each year, Sen. Rounds is able to nominate a select group of eligible students from South Dakota to attend our nation’s four service academies: The U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the U.S. Naval Academy.
