Rounds Blasts Biden’s Gun Control Executive Actions During Mitchell Stop Thursday

U.S. Senator Mike Rounds blasted President Joe Biden’s executive actions regarding gun control at a stop in Mitchell on Thursday.  One executive action includes efforts to restrict weapons known as “ghost guns” which are made out of materials that are untraceable.  Rounds says such weapons are already illegal.  Rounds also says no red flag laws have worked so far, and the focus should be keeping guns out of the hands of felons and those who are deemed to be mentally ill.  He adds that he is more concerned about efforts being made to restrict normal law-abiding citizens from buying ammunition, proposals to tax ammunition, and a push to increase the waiting period for buying guns.

Rounds also talked about COVID-19 relief efforts, noting that under President Trump, relief efforts were bipartisan.  He says that has not been the case under the Biden administration thus far.

Other topics Rounds discussed included the filibuster, the District of Columbia’s push to become a state, taxes, and the national debt.

Rounds spoke at the Mitchell Rotary Club meeting which was held at the Ramada Inn.
